MATTERPORT & SIMLAB

Matterport, the market leader in 3D capture and spatial data, announced its strategic investment and partnership with SIMLAB. This investment will enable SIMLAB to accelerate products feature development, as well as sales and marketing expansion into the U.S. and Asia. The objective is to co-develop products and features combining SIMLAB’s knowledge and expertise in property management, building information, and smart home IoT industries with Matterport’s digital twin platform.

“Through this collaboration, Matterport and SIMLAB will provide advanced digital tools for the global Matterport user community and property owners. Integration with home and building automation providers will deliver an engaging digital solution for the full lifecycle of the structure,” says Marek Kozlak, PhD Eng, CEO of SIMLAB. “Thanks to Matterport’s investment, SIMLAB plans to further develop a dedicated cloud platform to help property owners, rental agencies, insurance companies, and other stakeholders to understand the current status of their properties, schedule maintenance, and interact efficiently with the real-time IoT sensor data through the whole life cycle of the building”.

“Our partnership with SIMLAB further cements Matterport as the spatial data platform of choice for facility owners and the architecture, engineering and construction industry,” said RJ Pittman, Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of Matterport. “As a publicly traded company, we intend to further accelerate our growth by continuing to pursue strategic investments in partners like SIMLAB. Additionally, this is a clear example of our rapidly expanding developer ecosystem that aims to deliver best in-class industry solutions through a robust library of third-party add-ons and integrations from some of the most innovative companies spanning many important industries across the built world. Together with SIMLAB, we’re excited to accelerate innovation and bring new tools to the industry worldwide.”

Collaboration with a key technology partner opens new opportunities for the development of SIMLAB solutions for property owners and the improvement of communication with architecture, engineering and construction specialists. The parties plan to further develop the functionality and integrate it with other solutions currently available on the market.

“As SIMLAB expands, we are excited to build in support for the popular IoT systems all over the world,” said Karolina Drwiega-Waliczek, co-founder & COO of SIMLAB. “Matterport has been the perfect partner to work with to ensure we deliver the greatest value to our mutual customers globally via a cutting-edge experience usually not available to most property owners. Together we are using advanced technology to make property ownership more manageable, comprehensive, and most importantly more enjoyable.”
