Damon works in many areas of the Web3D Industry as a designer and developer that has been active in virtual environments and the 3D web for over 20 years. He is actively involved with the 3D web’s convergence with other technologies including IoT, GIS, CAD/BIM/CAM, AR/VR, mobile and advises a variety of entities that use these technologies for enterprise applications.
Previously, Damon worked at Samsung Research America where he focused on making the web browser experience awesome and enhanced with immersive web technologies. He is a co-founder of IDEAbuilder, a high tech building company that uses immersive technologies and robotic manufacturing to build more efficiently. He has worked with a variety of 3D web and virtual world companies, mainly enterprise focused, and was acting director of a student initiated organization with the Web3D Consortium, where he worked with the Consortium’s global outreach and education initiatives. He has built numerous mixed reality applications and has lead dozens of research projects in multiple domains.
As founding team member of the Augmented Reality Developer Camps, VR Hackathon, & founder of the AEC Hackathon, he is actively working to help grow the use of innovative technologies.

Steve Holzer is a pragmatic Technology Visionary and Leader in the business of the digitalization of the Built Environment. He brings members of the built environment industry to a deep understanding of how digitalization leverages value previously unavailable in legacy business models. Understanding the reality of how this advancement impacts the circular building lifecycle. Steve serves on the Infrastructure, Terminology, and Marketing Work Groups of the Digital Twin Consortium defining Digital Twins and how they are utilized. He chairs the Design Team of the Infrastructure Work Group. Recently he served on the APPA Work Group to develop the ANSI standard for Total Cost of Ownership (TCO). It is based on several ISO standards. He chaired the Data and Formulas Work Group for the TCO ANSI Standard development.
Original member of the AEC Hackathon Board of Directors participating in AEC Hackathons all over the world. He has presented on Industry Foundation Classes (IFC) an ISO 16739:2013 Standard. Steve served as a member of the National Institute of Building Science (NIBS) buildingSMARTalliance (bSa) Council, a member of the NBIMS-US Project Committee, a member of the Terminology Committee, a member of the Implementation Committee, Vice-Chair of the Market Education committee. Longtime member of the National Association of Homebuilders. At NAHB he served on the Business Management and Information Technology Committee, the Design Committee, and the Education Committee.
